The role

We are currently seeking a talented Marketing/bid coordinator to work closely with our management team. You will provide high quality bid coordination services and support the ongoing activities of our various functional teams.
Your main responsibilities will be as follows:
  • Coordinate and compile bids in response to specific opportunities;
  • Coordinate Expressions of Interest and Proposals;
  • Manage and coordinate the input of others, including third party organisations, into Expressions of Interest and Proposals;
  • Ensure bids are completed on time and on budget;
  • Establish and maintain internal contacts to source the appropriate bidding and marketing skills;
  • Ensure bid and marketing documentation is to the required quality;
  • Assist in the delivery of a Marketing Plan for the region;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies;
  • Support client relationship coordinators in the development of client engagement plans;
  • Help build appropriate marketing collateral.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification from accredited university / college or registered training organisation (desirable).
  • Experience in the creation of winning bids, graphics and presentations;
  • Experience to identify bid requirements and check that these are included in the proposal;
  • Experience in professional services consulting environment and bid management, where you developed your ability to understand the nature of the work carried out by SMEC technical groups, their capability and capacity;
  • Competent in the use of appropriate software applications and design tools e.g. Adobe Creative Suite CS5, Visio 2007;
  • Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft desktop products such as Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Clear and persuasive writing skill to write effectively in English to furnish reports and to prepare business development materials including proposals;
  • Capacity to present the thoughts of technical staff as high quality prose, and to transform the inputs of many writers into one articulate proposal;
  • Highly developed organisational and project management skills; 
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment.
