Knowledge and Insights Advisor

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) implements America's foreign economic and humanitarian assistance programs. Headquartered in Washington D.C., it supports long-term and equitable economic growth and advances U.S. foreign policy objectives by supporting economic growth, agriculture and trade, global health, democracy, conflict prevention and humanitarian assistance.
Background: USAID’s Global Development Lab (Lab), is an entity established to harness the power of science, technology, innovation, and partnership (STIP) to significantly accelerate the achievement of foreign policy and development goals. The Lab’s goal is to produce breakthroughs that truly bend the curve of development. Using this vision as the foundation will drive the kind of systematic changes that are needed to accelerate improvements in development methodology. The Lab will achieve this vision through a two-part mission first, by producing breakthrough development innovations and second, accelerating the transformation of the U.S. development enterprise.
The Center for Global Solutions drives the widespread adoption and implementation of proven, transformative digital technology innovations. Within that context, the Center levers the power and reach of digital technology to accelerate USAID’s development goals. In particular, the Center catalyzes access to mobile handsets and the uptake of broadband to level the technology playing field. It also scales digital finance platforms to accelerate financial inclusion, improve good governance, and unlock the private sector, and integrates the use of mobile data solutions across USAID programs to empower citizens and improve decision making.
