This position is located in the United Nations Language and Communications Programme(LCP), Learning, Leadership & Organizational Development Section (LLODS) of the Learning Development and HR Services Division (LDSD) in the Office of Human Resources Management (OHRM). The Russian Language Head Teacher reports to the Head of LCP.

Education
• Hold an advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in language area studies, language teaching, applied linguistics, communication or education/ pedagogy. Degrees should come from a university or equivalent institution at which Russian is the language of instruction. Degrees with special emphasis on the theory and practice of teaching Russian as a second or foreign language to adult learners are desirable.

• Must have a minimum of 500 training contract hours (specific training courses, postgraduate courses, etc), in addition to the hours accumulated to obtain the university degree, in the areas of teaching Russian as a second or foreign language, curriculum development for adults, language examination design, administrative course management and teachers' support and training.

• Possess good knowledge of current office software and experience with a variety of web 2.0 tools, such as learning management systems (e.g. Moodle, Canvas); online collaboration tools (e.g. Google drive and Hangouts, WebEX, GotoMeetings) and social media platforms to teach Russian as a foreign language.

Work Experience
• Have at least three years of recent experience in language programme administrative management, curriculum development, language examination design, and teacher training and supervision in Russian language programme;

• Have at least two years of recent experience teaching Russian as a foreign language to adults, which may come from a variety of corporate, academic and other professional settings.

• Working experience at an international level in a multicultural environment is desirable.

Languages
Have Russian as their main language; Main language is to be understood as the language in which the candidate applicant is best able to work. Working knowledge of English or French is required. Knowledge of other official languages of the United Nations (Arabic, Chinese, or Spanish) is desirable.
