General Accountant

Context

General Accounting Team provides financial services to entities across Diageo with a main scope of reporting, reconciliation.
 

Dimensions of the role

Financial activities are performed by one team in the current setup working in the Budapest based Business Services Centre. In the new structure the team would be held accountable in providing financial services and solutions to Diageo entities and acts as business partner.
The General Accounting Analyst is one of a team of up to 10 team members who reports to a General Accounting Junior Manager/Team Leader 

 

Purpose of Role

To ensure that the Business Unit (BU) financial and reporting processes are
completed accurately and on time and that the surrounding internal control
procedures are strictly adhered to

 

Top 3-5 accountabilities

· Carry out timely, accurate and compliant Period End reporting process in
BFC and SAP for Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss statement, Cash Flow.
· Compliant GL reconciliation and GLOM maintenance
· Proactively suggests improvements/additional control points to build in and
takes an active part in the implementation and in the follow up .

 

Qualifications and experience required
 
 
Educated in Finance/Accounting and/or has relevant experience
· Results orientated and capable of working in a deadline driven
environment.
· Has customer focus to be able to build excellent relationships with relevant
internal and external customers
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
· Hard working personality, flexibility, inquisitiveness, proactivity
· Good business English, able to communicate effectively
· Experience in working with integrated software system is an advantage.
