Position Overview
Building Markets seeks a dynamic, data-savvy graduate student who will help the organization transition from a Google Drive storage system to an interactive Salesforce data management solution. The Fellow should be a master of Excel and an expert in consolidating, cleaning and analyzing very large datasets. The Fellow will report to the Senior Project Officer. Specific start dates are flexible, but the Fellow would be expected to work part-time for approximately four months (February to May).
A modest monthly stipend will be provided.
Responsibilities and Duties
Data Support
  • Work with the Senior Project Officer to recommend metrics and indicators for Building Markets to include that capture key figures and impact related to project services;
  • Support the consolidation historical data collected from past programs into Excel master so that data can be integrated into the new Salesforce and clean compiled data;
  • Conduct analysis on Building Markets historical data to identify trends relevant to SMEs across development markets;
  • Provide administrative support to Building Markets’ data team throughout the transition to the Salesforce platform.
Program Support
  • Support data management of Building Markets’ programs in Liberia, Mozambique, and Myanmar;
  • Conduct analysis of project data on SMEs for donor and stakeholder reporting, analyzing interesting trends and highlight Building Markets’ impact;
  • Provide administrative and other programmatic support when required.
Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a graduate program in computer science, international studies, business administration or a related discipline, with a keen interest in help organizations improve their data systems to better track project metrics and quantify program impact;
  • Excellent attention to detail and a mastery of Microsoft Excel;
  • Previous working experience with Salesforce is a benefit, but not a requirement for the position.
