Senior Advisor – Textile Regulatory and Environmental Issues

Position:  Senior Advisor – Textile Regulatory and Environmental Issues (Consultant)
Primary responsibilities are advising senior management of consumer issues affecting global cotton production and ginning, cottonseed, and textile industries as well as regulatory and technical issues impacting cotton including environmental (e.g., external emissions/clean air, solid waste, clean water), workplace (health and safety), and consumer issues, cotton biotechnology, organic and sustainable cotton, cotton fiber chemistry, and oilseed research.  The Consultant will provide technical information regarding sustainability of cotton production and processing in the US and internationally by preparing monthly reports addressing specific questions, developing Q&A responses to common questions, responding directly or indirectly to press and industry queries, and traveling to designated locations to confer with interested parties.
Ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in the textile industry, with specific focus on technical and environmental issues.  Comprehensive knowledge of the global textile supply chain and key contacts therein a plus.  Candidate must possess excellent verbal and written skills in English, be computer literate, and willing to travel.  Employment relationship will be established on a contractual basis, subject to review and extension on an annual basis.
