This is a leadership position at the branch, which is a Strategic Business Unit (S'BUJ for the company. The
objective of establishing a branch is to strategize business growth and management of revenues from a defined segment of the market or geographical region. The strategies for the branch will be in line with the overall Corporate Strategy and it is expected that the efficient execution of the same should contribute positively to the realization of the Company growth strategy.
The Branch Manager as the leader of the SBU shall have inter alia the following responsibilities:
1.Annually prepare objectives (Budgets) for gross & net revenues, human and other resources, capital and revenue expenses in collaboration with and guidance from corporate head office;
2.Manage all the resources including performance evaluation of branch human resources for efficient
conduct of company's bustness' as well as implement staff adherence.' to HR policies and procedures;
3.Monitor and implement the Customer Service Standards and Processes as per set deliverables to ensure friendly and timely customer service and satisfaction;
4.Grow and achieve the set business Budgets/Targets in terms of quality and volumes as well us expand -the intermediary distribution networks
5.Perform prudently and in consultation with the Operations Manager oversee all activities related to
risk assessement, underwriting, placements, policy renewals, policy issuance. and documentation including acculate and timely data input and processing;
6.Perform speedily and in consultation with the Claims Manager oversee all activities related to
claims notification, processing, collection of excess, motor vehicle repairs, safeguarding of salvages, performance of service providers, monitoring and reporting of fictitious and exaggerated claims to Head Office;
7.Perform timely and in consultation with the Chief Finance Officer-oversee all financial controls to ensure that all premiums and monies due to the company are collected 'on time, accurate banking is done on time and without any discrepancies and report any difficult debtors to Head Office for appropriate action;
8.Closely monitor the competition, market trends and threats 'in the area of operation and timely report and recommend suitable solutions and strategies to senior the management;
9.Maintain a high quality business , portfolio and ensure the all branch claims and expenses' are monitored and controlled in order to increase the company underwriting result and profitability;
10.Maintain and promote the brand of the company and In conjunction with the Head Office initiate and implement initiatives and activities to enhance the visibility of the company in the area of jurisdiction;
11. Compile, analyze and submit Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Management reports to the
Head Office as per the existing reporting requirements; .
13.Perform any other duties and tasks assigned by a person occupying a senior position in the Company

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
1.A university Degree preferably in Insurance and Risk Management, Commerce, Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent
2.Achieved or' passed several papers towards Associateship of Insurance Qualifications
3.At least 3 years working .experience in a similar position in a recognized insurance company or intermediary
4.A sound knowledge of business environment in the designated branch
5.A working knowledge of applicable computer applications
6.Ability to manage and motivate staff
7.Ability to drive and work beyond normal working hours.
