Warranty Analyst/Administrator—Surface Mining

Key performance areas
As the Warranty Analyst/Administrator—Surface Mining, you will oversee warranty policies and procedures on our surface mining heavy equipment at sites throughout the world. At the same time, you will critically analyze trends to uncover the major causes of warranty costs and work to improve reliability as well as lower the cost of these products. Your reports will be used by the reliability engineer to design processes to lower operating costs.
Besides administering policies and analyzing trends, you will pursue recovery of warranty costs from suppliers, create monthly and quarterly reports on warranty costs and causes and initiate and track product support orders.
You will also:
  • Enter machine data into sales tools for warranty and feedback databases
  • Coordinate evaluation of returned failed parts and follow up with suppliers on these evaluations
  • Notify regions when policies are implemented and of any changes to the warranties
Your profile
We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills and a background in database administration who is proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access. Prior experience with heavy equipment will be considered a plus, as will a functional understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components and drill functions.
You also have:
  • Three to five years’ experience with heavy equipment customer manuals
  • Previous customer service and/or warranty experience
  • An associate’s degree, preferably in a business-related field
  • Good mechanical skills
