Job description

The Training Coordinator (TrC) will support and coordinate the development and strengthening of EATG activities in the key area of training, via the coordination of training projects (where EATG is lead or partner organisation) and the work on external communication (such as website, newsletters, press releases ...). The TrC will also participate in general governance and organisational activities.

Conditions of the contract

The Training Coordinator will work full time (38h/week). The contract will start asap (ideally before October 1st).
The TrC will be employed within the Brussels EATG office and receive a gross salary of 2600 EUR/month.
The TrC needs to speak English and Russian.

Training and Capacity Building Working Group coordination (TCWG) 20%

The training Coordinator (TrC) has a coordinating role in the overall TCWG coordination and strategy development.

Key tasks include:

  • Defining EATG training priorities (short and long term) by developing an annual work plan, priorities, budget and fundraising proposals, possible funders;
  • Supporting the strengthening of EATGs visibility on training;
  • Organising internal training meetings in collaboration with the training coordinator;
  • Providing support in updating our list members;
  • Coordinating and creating opportunities for external communication and promotion of training activities (poster sessions, seminars …);
  • Evaluating EATGs internal training needs and involvement on an ongoing basis.

Training projects and activities 60 %

The core activity of the Training Coordinator (TrC) is the coordination of external training projects (where EATG is a lead or partner organisation), mainly focusing on Eastern Europe and key populations.
The TrC will also coordinate training activities within the EATG. As such the TrC will work closely together with the trainers’ pool, the scientific adviser, the policy officer etc.

Key tasks include:

  • Project proposal writing (including budget and fundraising proposals) for new training projects;
  • Coordination, Implementation and Evaluation of STEP UP training program and other training activities:
    • Selection of participants, speakers, partners;
    • Subcontracting project leaders, minute takers, local partner organisations;
    • Budget control;
    • Content, Technical and Financial Reporting (in collaboration with Financial Manager);
    • Ensuring reports and minutes are produced;
  • Networking & collaboration:
    • Establishing and maintaining contacts with other training centres, partners, networks …;
    • Organizing meetings with external stakeholders (funders, trainers, network organizations …);
  • Monitoring and analysis of developments and trends of internal and external HIV/AIDS related training needs;
  • Providing up-to-date information on trainings via EATG’s website, newsletters, facebook etc.;
  • Further development and implementation of the EATG training academy.

Governance 20%

Key tasks include:

  • Developing an overall internal and external training strategy and (bi)annual workplan;
  • Participation at team meetings;
  • Participation at governance and stakeholders meetings;
  • Participation at annual General Assembly;
  • Participation within work plan development, planning process …;
  • Support to development of annual report;

    • Having excellent oral and writing communication capacities in both English and Russian;
    • Capacity to make clear and efficient reports; make proposals;

    • Having good computer skills especially related to website, publications etc.
