Location: Agnico Eagle, Meadowbank Gold Mine, Nunavut
Schedule: Fly-in / Fly-out, based on two (2) week rotations
Sandvik Mining is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry including rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.
Located at Meadowbank Gold Mine in Nunavut, the Reconditioning Technician is responsible for the sharpening and reconditioning of rock tools according to defined specifications. Travel to the mine site is provided by a charter plane that departs from Val d’Or, QC. The successful applicantmust reside in Val-d’Or, Quebec (or surrounding area).
Key Responsibilities include:
  • Repairing and maintaining rock tools to defined specifications
  • Hammer rebuilds
  • Maintaining bit reconditioning log
  • Troubleshooting and providing technical recommendations and improvements on ITH drilling applications
  • Maintaining hand tools and equipment to ensure safe operation
Qualifications
  • Completion of Secondary School
  • Knowledge and/or experience with industry specific equipment
  • ITH drilling experience is an asset
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Flexible, self-motivated with demonstrated initiative
  • Ability to develop knowledge of customer business processes in relation to product reconditioning
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
