Job Summary

Cardno Government Services - Training Solutions is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to support the analysis, design, development, and implementation of a wide range of instructional materials and services, including; eLearning, instructor led training, print and online media, job aids, training program documentation, needs analysis and program implementation , and technical writing tasks. This Instructional Designer (ID) position will be responsible for applying professional instructional design processes and methods while working with clients, subject matter experts, and our internal project team. This position requires someone who is able and willing to research and collaborate on instructional design approaches to achieve successful outcomes for our clients.

Essential Job Duties:
> Conduct needs assessments and develop performance-based learning objectives to meet client training goals.
> Apply instructional design methodology for different types and levels of learning objectives.
> Facilitate input and collaboration with SMEs, clients, and other project team members to achieve design and development milestones.
> Draft, edit, and finalize instructional documentation including design strategy documents, content outlines, audio scripts, storyboards, media lists, and other materials necessary for the successful completion of training projects.
> Design comprehensive assessment and remediation strategies.
> Plan, facilitate, and manage internal and external reviews for interim and final project materials.
> Apply a formal design and development process for all projects to ensure projects are instructionally sound and within budget, scope, and schedule parameters.
> Support the client and project team with various addition duties as assigned. (i.e. technical writing, authoring simple courses using COTS tools, document review/QA)
> Perform project management for internal design and development projects as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

> Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or complimentary
> Minimum 3 years of demonstrated instructional design experience.
> Attentive to details, analytical and well organized at both the personal and project levels.
> Ability to manage instructional design activities as they relate to client needs and project scope.
>Above average written and verbal communication skills
> Ability to review large quantities of reference material and reduce to succinct points from which training can be derived.
> Demonstrated experience applying adult learning theory to training design and development.
> Must work well in a team environment and have a strong understanding of process.
> Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
> Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
> Occasional travel to client sites.

Additional Preferred Skills:
> Experience with Captivate, Articulate Storyline, and/or Lectora.
> Experience with technical writing.
> Subject matter expertise in environmental and safety compliance.
> Experience using Adobe tools.
> Experience in project management and/or marketing is desirable.
> An understanding of web technologies and technical implications to an e-Learning.
