It’s hard to believe that today 650 million people still don’t have clean, safe water and 2.3 billion live without a toilet. The resulting diseases kill one child every minute.

WaterAid is looking for a Head of People and Organisational Development to play a vital role in our mission to transform lives with safe water, sanitation and hygiene in the world’s poorest communities.

This post will support our Mali Country Programme and will be based in Bamako. As part of the Senior Management Team of the Mali country programme, the Head of People and Organisational Development will focus on creating and implementing change management plans. Furthermore, the post-holder will develop and maintain innovative, effective and forward-looking people/human resource and organisational development strategies, practices and procedures to equip managers with the tools they need for good people management and effective implementation of an HRIS system. The role will require periodic travel to WaterAid partner offices within the country programme for necessary support.

To be successful, you’ll need to have extensive experience in a senior HR role and at the organisational management or supervisory level. You will also have knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labour relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems and solid experience of developing and steering culture change and willingness to challenge the status quo.
