is currently seeking candidates (F/M) for the post of
Head of Corporate Affairs Department (grade AD10)

ESMA, which is based in Paris, is the independent European Union (EU) Authority responsible for securities markets issues. Its mission is to enhance investor protection and promote stable and orderly financial markets in the EU.
The Corporate Affairs Department will be established in late 2015, as part of the organisation’s revamped structure to support its Strategic Orientation 2016-20. The new department will be responsible for providing support and expertise to senior management, with an emphasis on ESMA’s external relations, and the organisation as a whole.
As the Head of Department you will report to the Executive Director and work closely with the Chair, as well as being part of the management team.
Your responsibilities:
  • Managing the Corporate Affairs Department – building on team members’ skills and experience to create a strong team that effectively supports senior management, the Boards and the organisation.
  • Developing ESMA’s accountability to its stakeholders.
  • Enhancing cooperation with national securities regulators, EU institutions, the other European Supervisory Authorities (EBA, EIOPA and the ESRB) and non-EU regulators.
  • Leading ESMA’s stakeholder engagement and supporting the Securities Markets Stakeholder Group (SMSG).
  • Leading ESMA’s external and internal communications.
  • Implementing ESMA’s strategic orientation and developing multi-annual/annual planning.
  • Develop internal reporting and monitoring of the relevant processes with targeted
    controls.
Essential requirements:
  • Twelve years of experience, of which five years should be in the area of public policy engagement (whether in the public or private sector, whether in a corporate affairs or regulation/supervision related role);
  • Experience of at least 5 years in leading and managing a team;
  • Excellent planning and implementation skills including experience of developing and executing corporate strategies;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience of interacting with multiple internal and external stakeholders;
  • Excellent written and oral English.
