Key Responsibilities

We are seeking to expand our Transport Infrastructure technical team with the addition of an Apprentice CAD Drafter. The role will involve experience on projects in the Transport sector, particularly in the Civil disciplines of Drainage, Roads and Highways.

As an Apprentice/Junior CAD Drafter, you will be involved in working with multi-disciplinary teams including colleagues from the areas of Engineering, Road Design, Drafting and Project management to deliver small to large scale infrastructure projects. Industry and internal training and experience will provide you the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge, with the later opportunity to move through the organisation to design based roles.

This is an opportunity to join an experienced, versatile and personable team of professionals in a strong organisation within the Transport sector, offering experience on some of NSW’s largest Transport infrastructure projects. Our clients include State Government departments like Roads and Maritime Services and Transport for NSW, as well as many local Councils and our own internal clients based in Cardno regional or interstate offices.

Other Requirements

To be successful you will display:
  • It will be required that the candidate brings prior experience in the use of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
  • Candidates clearly demonstrating soft skills with an interested, intuitive and balanced attitude will be successful in securing this role.
  • Experience working in the Transport sector of 1-2 years will be desirable along with prior/current tertiary education, at TAFE level.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form with clients, staff and managers
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • To be passionate and committed to achieving outcomes for self, business unit and Cardno
