The EU institutions are looking for talented, motivatedtranslators to be recruited as permanent staff for the following languages:
  • Finnish
  • Hungarian
  • Latvian
  • Polish
  • Portuguese
  • Slovak

A multilingual organisation like the EU needs high quality translation and relies on professional linguists to keep it running smoothly. As a translator, you will support and strengthen multilingual communication in Europe and help citizens understand EU policies.

To apply for this position, you should have the following language skills:
  • a perfect command of the language of the competition (C2);
  • a thorough knowledge of English, French or German (C1); and
  • a thorough knowledge of another official EU language (C1).
If you don't meet these language standards, you are strongly advised not to apply.

You also need:
  • at least 3 years' completed university studies attested by a diploma;
  • EU citizenship.
Although professional experience is not required previous experience as a translator would be an asset.

Location: Brussels or Luxembourg

Salary: EUR 4 384,38 (indicative monthly starting salary for a 40-hour working week)
