  The role

  We are currently seeking a talented Team Leader - Urban Planning to work closely with our other specialists based in our Campbelltown office and to take on the overall responsibility for the delivery of urban planning services.
  With a minimum of 8 years commercial experience in details, you will play a key role in:
  • Managing the SMEC Urban planning team members, overseeing technical areas and operational activities, maintaining budgets and financial records for project control
  • Preparing fee submissions for projects.
  • Proactively dealing with the client and project team, maintaining existing client relationships and expanding our client base
  • Providing statutory planning advice to enable the development of land in NSW..
  With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy or other relevant environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
  Suitable applicants will have/be:
  • Bachelor degree course in urban design, planning, landscape architecture or equivalent
  • A minimum of 8 years experience in urban planning with demonstrated experience in the areas of legislative requirements, masterplanning, client and people management, as well as financial management
  • Excellent technical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
