About SMEC Urban

SMEC Urban is the urban development consulting division of SMEC Australia employing more than 170 staff including civil engineers, surveyors, town planners, urban designers and master planners, landscape architects and project managers.  We provide integrated consulting services needed to plan, design, construct and manage projects from concept to completion.

The role 

We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to work closely with our other specialists in our Campbelltown office.
With a minimum of 10 years experience in Project Management and design, you will play a key role in:
  • Providing project management and/or project governance of projects to achieve reliable project performance in terms of sophistication, timeliness and quality
  • Building and maintaining strong and effective client relationships through targeted activities
  • Contributing to providing leadership to employees on the project to ensure cohesion, optimal performance, resourcing, retention and professional development
With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
  • An understanding of the following disciplines of land development: Planning, Engineering Design, and Environmental.
  • High level communication skills to advise and guide project design development in a pro-active manner and to represent the SMEC design team as a valuable contributor to the project
  • Knowledge of relevant design codes, Local Regulatory Authority Guidelines and Australian Standards.
  • The demonstrated ability to manage urban development projects successfully to budget and client specifications
  • The demonstrated ability to build trusting and fruitful client relationships.
