Sandvik IT Global Shared Services is a support function with the mission of meeting the IT needs of Sandvik's business globally. This is done in an international environment, within various areas of responsibilities, such as IT architecture, management systems, process development, IT security and IT support. Today, about 850 people in approximately 40 countries work in IT Global Shared Services at Sandvik.
Active Directory (AD) is a focus area within Sandvik, and it is entering an interesting phase. We are working on enabling cloud service and transforming the AD platform, in order to improve our continuous and active directory service for our IT environment. We are now looking for a Senior Microsoft Technician with experience from global deliveries, to be part of implementing the foundation for cloud service, as well as developing the operations further. The position offers an opportunity to join a global Active Directory team that supports the whole of Sandvik; the team consists of four people based in different parts of the world. The location for this specific position is in Fair Lawn, USA or India.
Key performance areas
As Senior Microsoft Technician you are responsible for the overall development, operations and maintenance of the active directory service development area. It is a supportive role; you efficiently build our internal services with technical knowledge of AD tools and identify and access services aligned with current operative situations. Designing and developing accurate solutions and maintaining or modifying procedures as business requirements change are also parts of the job. You assist various IT areas in their use of the Active Directory and give support in related access & identity issues. Other main responsibilities for this position are:
  • Identifying, developing and/or implementing solutions to support identity and access management aspects of applications and services
  • Assisting with management, maintenance, optimization, and recovery of the Microsoft Active Directory and federation environment
  • Operating and maintaining PKI, 2-factor authentication and privileged identity management infrastructure
  • Establishing processes and controls for audit and compliance requirements
  • Resolving escalated user support requests related to identity and access management
International travel is required in this position.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree in IT or with an equivalent skill set within the field of Active Directory and Active Directory Federation Service. You have at least seven years of experience working with Windows, LDAP, Exchange, Group Policy and other technologies. We also require experience from design, implementation, maintenance and support. Knowledge of FIM is considered advantageous. You have extensive knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft products as well as excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
