The role

We are currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to work closely with our other specialists and deliver major projects.
With a minimum of 6 years experience in Geotechnical engineering, you will play a key role in:
  • Ensuring that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC
  • Proactively collaborating with appropriate team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and co-ordination of project deliverables
  • Actively contributing to the commercial success of projects and the team
  • Applying project management principles in carrying out assigned tasks and accomplish project deliverables to the required standard and in a timely manner
With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
  • Bachelors Degree (Engineering) or Equivalent
  • The demonstrated ability to consistently provide key technical expertise across a broad range of projects
  • The demonstrated ability to manage risk on substantial projects
  • The demonstrated ability to deliver best client outcomes which have provided cost savings
  • The demonstrated ability to effectively lead small teams and contribute to building the technical capability of others
  • The demonstrated ability to prepare quality technical reports and prepare quality proposals on small to medium projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a diverse and multi-disciplinary environment
