The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) is an international organisation promoting global monetary and financial stability and is a bank for central banks. We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst specialising in Quality Assurance (QA) to join the team responsible for bank-wide architecture and QA services. The ideal candidate for this pivotal role between the business and IT developers is a QA expert with proven IT project management skills and a strong customer focus. S/he is well versed in the management of QA related tools, platforms and processes, and is a highly organized, flexible team player, comfortable working in a multi-cultural and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with business areas to analyse and define comprehensive business specifications and devise robust test cycles accordingly;
  • Liaise with developers to translate business requirements into customized, user-friendly solutions;
  • Design, develop and promote bank-wide QA processes and tools;
  • Manage small to medium size IT projects, including the procurement of necessary products and services;
  • Advise project managers on the design and execution of test plans;
  • Ongoing monitoring of compliance with internal IT policies.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Masters' degree or equivalent professional experience. A professional certification such as CSQA or CSQE would be an advantage;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a senior business analyst in the financial services industry or an International Organization;
  • High level of expertise in the planning and execution of software QA processes;
  • Strong knowledge of application lifecycle management practices, ideally using Microsoft TFS;
  • Ability to understand, analyse and comprehensively document and communicate complex system specifications;
  • Proven track record as a project manager;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to take the initiative and work independently, often under time pressure;
  • Flexible team player with strong relationship management skills and a service mindset;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English. A second major world language would be desirable.
