THE ORGANIZATION

Tanzania Industrial Research and Development Organization (TIRDO) is a multl-disclplinary research and development organization established by an Act of Parliament No.5 of 1979 and it became operational on 1 st April 1979. Its mandate is to assist the industrial sector of Tanzania by providing technical expertise and support services to upgrade their technology base. As well, carrying out applied research, for the development of suitable technologies, and value addition to indigenous resources through industrial processing.

TIRDO invites qualified Tanzanians to fill the following vacant posts.

RESEARCH OFFICERS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop programmes to achieve goals set in the corporate strategic plan
Carry out needs assessment study and give baseline information on a yearly basis and provide report.
Develop two (2) research proposals annually and submit for funding outside the organization.
Implement three (3) approved projects during the year.
Carry out applied research on industrial inputs, raw materials and products with.th~
aim of enhancing productivity and ascertaining quality in industry and disseminate the technologies. . .
Win at least one (1} customer per quarter of a year to increase Institution income.
Disseminate one-project/consultancy findings in one year.
Prepare articles in a form suitable for presentation or publication _
Prepare and submit regular reports on the progress of research projects or services undertaken by you.
Carry out any other duties/assignments given to you by your superiors.

QUALIFICATIONS
A holder of M.S.c. in Textile Engineering/Textile Technology or in other relevant field. Must have a B.Sc. with upper second-class honors. Working experience will be an added advantage


GENERAL CONDITIONS:
i.All applicants must be Citizens of Tanzania. Applicants who are currently employed in the public service should route their application letters through their respective employers .

v. Presentation of forged academic certificates and other information in the CV win necessitate to legal action
vi. Applicants who have/were retired from the Public Service for whatever reason shoulq. not apply.
vii. Applicants should indicate three reputable referees with their reliable contacts.
viii. Certificates from foreign examination bodies for ordinary or advanced level education should be certified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA)
ix. Certificates from foreign Universities should be verified byThe Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU)
x.Only short listed candidates will be informed on a date for interview
xi. Deadline for application is two weeks after the first appearance of the advertisement
