ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: 
Women’s World Banking (WWB) is an international network of MFIs in several countries working to bring financial services and information to low-income entrepreneurs. Its mission is to expand the economic assets, participation, and power of poor women as entrepreneurs and economic agents by opening their access to finance, knowledge and markets. It seeks to alleviate global poverty by expanding the economic assets, participation, and power of the poor, especially women.
ABOUT THE JOB: 
WWB is seeking Research Fellows. This program enables future global leaders in financial inclusion and women’s economic empowerment to experience the challenges and rewards of contributing to an organization that works diligently to create financial opportunities for low income women.
 
Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the design/implementation/management of research projects;
  • Conduct quantitative/qualitative research in the areas relates to women’s access to finance and financial empowerment;
  • Collaborate on report development and presentation of findings;
  • Design/carry out case studies;
  • Analyze/translate data and partner with others to develop recommendations and presentations;
  • Assist in examining monitoring/evaluation methodologies.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2-5 years of work experience in quantitative/qualitative research and a Master’s degree in Research or related field;
  • Have experience with and a level of comfort in working across departments;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English/Spanish or English/French;
  • Ability to legally work in the United States;
  • Independent, open minded, intuitive, and eager to contribute to an innovative microfinance network organization;
  • Possess skilled written and verbal communications skills;
  • Can demonstrate empathy towards and commitment to changing the lives of those in low-income communities around the world through a dedication to microfinance, economic development, project management, banking, or development;
  • Have applied their passion for research beyond academic projects;
  • Demonstrate competency in understanding both macro and micro components of microfinance, from policy and regulation to the needs of a mother and entrepreneur in Asia, Africa, or Latin America;
  • Have participated in financial inclusion industry events, conferences, social media, blogs, or program design.
