Regional Corporate Audit Manager - LAC

ABOUT THE JOB: 
FINCA International is seeking a Regional Corporate Audit Manager - LAC. S/he will be responsible for performing advanced-level and/or managerial professional corporate auditing work which involves managing or conducting performance, operational, financial, and compliance audit projects. S/he will be be responsible for providing consulting services to management and staff, in the region and providing significant input to development of the annual corporate audit plan.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Corporate audit planning:
    • Manage the identification and evaluation of the organization’s audit risk areas and provide significant input to the development of an enterprise risk-based annual corporate audit plan;
    • In collaboration with other regional managers and the global chief auditor, define the annual global corporate audit plan and specifically, the LAC regional corporate audit plan.
  • Corporate audit engagement planning, execution and supervision:
    • Execute the corporate audit plan for the region.
    • Manage the annual regional corporate audit plan in a flexible manner and ensure immediate redeployment of corporate audit resources when necessary and following due validation process to respond to management request, significant shift in the risk profile, unexpected events, major frauds, etc.
  • Communication and support to management and global corporate audit:
    • Ensure that the results of corporate audits and consulting projects are adequately discussed with management at the appropriate/required level and properly communicated in written reports and oral presentations on a timely basis;
    • Develop and maintain productive team-oriented client, staff, and management relationships through individual contacts and group meetings.
  • Quality assurance and improvement:
    • Support the global chief auditor in maintaining a quality assurance and improvement program for the corporate audit activity;
    • Execute in the region ongoing monitoring of performance of the corporate audit activities.
  • Management of human resource and administration activities:
    • Assist the global chief auditor in managing corporate audit staff, maintaining optimal skills, and competencies mix, planning, organizing, directing, and monitoring of corporate audit operations, including assisting in hiring, training, and evaluating staff, and taking effective actions to address performance matters in compliance with organization’s international procedures and local labor laws;
    • Prepare the budget (financial and staffing) for the regional corporate audit operations, execute the approved budget and reports on achievements and variances as requested (coordinate with subsidiary CEOs and audit committee chairs).
  • Training and career development:
    • Pursue professional development opportunities, including external and corporate training and professional association memberships, and share information gained with co-workers, regional management, subsidiary management, and other as seen fit.
  • Other:
    • Perform related work as assigned by the global chief auditor.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent;
  • Graduate degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field or a second certification/degree in Auditing, Antifraud, Forensic Accounting Specialty field;
  • Certified Public Accountant from an accredited professional association;
  • Second certification/degree in a specialty field- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) required;
  • About 15 years of full-time experience in corporate auditing, 10 years in fraud examination and forensic accounting, including 8 years in audit and fraud management supervisory;
  • About 10 years of experience working in Latin America, specifically in Mexico, Central America, and Ecuador;
  • Experience in microcredit industry, financial services, development banks, or central banks in an operations, or finance or auditing supervising capacity;
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish required.
  • Knowledge of French is a plus.
