Quality Assurance Intern

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: 
Started in 1992, The Small Enterprise Foundation (SEF) is a not-for-profit, pro-poor MFI. SEF aims to work towards the elimination of poverty and unemployment. This is accomplished through two programs, the Microcredit Programme (MCP) and the Tšhomišano Credit Programme (TCP). MCP focuses on existing, but generally marginal microenterprises and provides them with microloans. On the other hand, TCP strictly targets women who live below half the poverty line. SEF also provides value-add services including financial education, and partners with HIV and gender empowerment programs.
ABOUT THE JOB: 
SEF is seeking a Quality Assurance Intern. S/he will be responsible for assisting the QA manager and supervisor in developing QA schedules and action plans.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
  •  Assist QA officers in planning of field audits;
  • Assist in reviewing the planning of field audits as well as  audit reports and supporting documentation which come from field audits and bring to the attention of the QA manager any shortcomings in the planning or reporting or what the documentation reveals about shortcomings in the effective implementation of the audit;
  • Assist the QA manager with the production of QA monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on findings, challenges, and areas of concern;
  • Liaise with the QA manager and supervisor to ensure that all QA staff are kept up to date with all paperwork and policy;
  • Where requested to do so by the QA manager liase with other departmental staff on operations issues and R&D on QA specific activities;
  • Help maintain an up to date and complete version of the blue file and any other targeted materials for operations;
  • Assist in the distribution of the above mentioned documents;
  • Assist QA staff with queries that they send in from the field during field audits which are aimed at assisting them with their audit work;
  • Identify where desk-top or computer analysis can be used to assist audit processes then develop and train QA staff on the use of such analysis;
  • Champion the overall improvement on QA processes.
Qualifications:
  • Applicants should have a degree;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Good analytical skills;
  • Ability to work in a team, as well as independently;
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft office package;
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of management interface with regard to Quality;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Excellent report writing skills.
