Principal Human Resources Officer

Purpose of the Job
To manage the human resources function in relation to the objectives and strategic
goals of the TRA corporate plan.

Major Activities of the Job
      i.        Assist in planning, organizing, directing and budgeting for human resources
activities.
     ii.        Assist in the recruitment process.
    iii.        Provide advice on disciplinary matters, staff welfare, promotion and remuneration.
   iv.        Handle employees’ disputes, grievances and recommends action.
    v.        Co-ordinate and participate in staff performance appraisal.
   vi.        Maintain staff inventory (staff profile, age pattern, disposition, seniority list etc.)
  vii.        Advise and interpret Scheme of Service, Staff Regulations and Code of Conduct.
 viii.        Oversee the processing of employees terminal benefits and compensations.
   ix.        Provide advice on staff training and development, and organizational development.
    x.        Co-ordinate and identify training needs, and implement the approved training
programmes.
   xi.        Assist in Human Resources Planning and the preparation of Succession Plan.
  xii.        Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Minimum Job Requirements.
Qualification.
      i.        Advanced Diploma or University Degree in Business Administration, Human
Resources, Public Administration or its equivalent;
     ii.        Masters Degree in Business Administration ,Public Administration,
Human Resources Management from a recognised Institution;
    iii.        Training on Labour Laws or Performance management or Human Resources
Information Systems or human resources development will be an added
advantage.

Experience
Five (5) years of relevant experience.
