Corporate Finance is impacted by a variety of laws and professional codes of practice. BATI has also to comply with various external financial reporting requirements. The jobholder supports the Line Manager in ensuring that BATI’s statutory accounts are in line with these laws and codes of practice as well as that BATI complies with these external reporting requirements in an accurate and timely manner.
As many business operations impact or are reflected in the statutory accounts, the jobholder has close relationship with many other functions within BATI as well as the relevant functions of other BAT operating companies and Globe House.

Responsibilities
  • Checking and coding of supplier invoices
  • Perform proper reconciliation and analysis of certain balance sheet accounts and make sure accounts are cleared at month and quarter end
  • Support the preparation of periodical local statutory packages
  • Manage and report Swiss and foreign VAT on time
  • Check monthly calculation reports and invoices for royalties
  • Manage special ad-hoc job assignments and projects determined by line manager
  • File accounting documents of own area of responsibility according to BATI’s document retention policy as well as Swiss legal requirements, in order to ensure availability and completeness of supporting documentation to financial accounting transactions
  • Records Management - Ensure that all documents are filed and archieved according to Records Management policy
  • Understand peers’ work well enough to be able to cover during absences
Essential requirements
  • Commercial apprenticeship, accounting certificate Sachbearbeiter/in Rechnungswesen or equivalent
  • Two to three years post qualification experience in a similar job specification within a multi-cultural environment in a multinational company
  • High understanding of international and local accounting standards
  • Highly numerate, analytical, organised, flexible and accurate
  • Good computer literate including experience with standard packages (SAP, Office)
  • Fluent in English and preferable in German
  • Excellent in time management, including the ability to meet deadlines with multiple projects in parallel
  • Rigorous and attention to detail
