Job Description:

Responsible for the day-to-day organisation of several policy-specific committees of AmCham EU, each comprising business professionals representing companies of American parentage committed to Europe.
The Policy Officer acts as a focal point for all committee activities.
He/she establishes contact with EU institution officials; oversees the production and dissemination/marketing of policy papers; organises activities including meetings, conferences, seminars and visits; writes for the AmCham EU news sheet and contributes to other publications; researches and disseminates information on key EU issues for the membership; and manages all information flows.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience Required:

Work experience and proven interest in European Affairs; university degree in European Affairs, finance, politics, international relations or law; advanced degree in these areas or equivalent work experience; strong organisational and administrative skills; maturity, excellent interpersonal skills and diplomacy; computer literacy (particularly Word, internet and intranet systems).
Position will entailing servicing the following AmCham EU committees: Financial Services; EU Tax Policy; Institutional Affairs.
Ideal candidate will have between 1 and 3 years of professional experience.

Languages:

Fluent English (both written and spoken); French an advantage.

Other:

Candidate must be very well organised, have an eye for detail, be able to keep to deadlines, be computer literate and work well in a small, dynamic team. Candidate must be able to work well with many internal and external customers, including business executives and EU officials.
