DIRECTOR, COUNTRY ECONOMICS AND POLICY

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is an international financial institution promoting open market economies by investing in 34 countries on three continents, stretching from central Asia and Russia to Eastern Europe and the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean.
As Director for Country Economics and Policy (CE&P) you’ll join the CSE management team and be responsible for managing the Country Economics and Policy Pillar. The focus of CE&P is to provide intellectual leadership and analytical support to drive reforms in the Bank’s countries of operation. This role is crucial to achieving the EBRD transition mandate by ensuring the alignment of EBRD’s investment operations with complementary policy engagements. You will also contribute to the Bank’s country strategy development as well as provide analysis on the macroeconomic environment in the countries of operation.
Drawing on your experience and expertise you’ll lead a team of experienced economists, both in London and in the EBRD’s countries of operation, to provide leadership for EBRD’s engagement in policy initiatives while providing recommendations and advice to the President, Vice-President and Managing Director. You’ll ensure consistency and quality and represent the Bank at international forums around the world.
You’ll ideally have a Ph.D. in Economics, along with extensive experience of economic policy and reform issues facing transition economies. You’ll have worked for an international organisation, government agency or think tank and have a proven track record of providing intellectual leadership on economic policy in developing countries. A natural influencer and excellent communicator, you’ll be equipped with the skills to manage a large, multicultural team and lead them to success in all our regions.
