The role

We are currently seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to work within our Sydney-based Roads & Highways team.
With a minimum of 5 years' experience in Civil Engineering, you will play a key role to:
  • Ensure that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC
  • Proactively collaborate with appropriate team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and co-ordination of project deliverables
  • Actively contribute to the commercial success of projects and the team
  • Apply project management principles in carrying out assigned tasks and accomplish project deliverables to the required standard and in a timely manner
With a track record of achievement in a similar role, you will have gained your experience in an engineering design consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.
Suitable applicants will have a Bachelors Degree (Engineering) or Equivalent and the demonstrated ability to consistently:
  • Competently provide key technical expertise across a broad range of roads and highways projects
  • Manage risk on substantial projects
  • Deliver best client outcomes which have provided cost savings
  • Active involvement in the industry through industry bodies, papers etc
  • Effectively lead small teams and contribute to building the technical capability of others
  • Ability to develop client relationships
  • Undertake key technical tasks with a high degree of independence across a broad range of small to medium profile projects
