The Business Area IT organizations at Sandvik act as internal consultants for the different process owners and their teams, offering a full range of qualified services: describing the IT and information requirements in the business operations and its processes; purchasing and implementing the right IT solutions; maintaining and improving legacy systems; and coordinating the current investments in order to optimize the total business. We support process owners in maintaining and developing their business processes, using strategic and cost-efficient IS/IT solutions and leverage on joint systems and platforms where shared business processes apply. We also handle the implementation of processes and standards, coordinate service level agreements for legacy systems and are a proactive partner for the product areas in developing the business.
We are now looking for a new manager for the Business Area IT organization at Sandvik Machining Solutions (SMS), a Business Information Officer (BIO), to take a leading role in the ongoing transformation of SMS IT landscape. The position will be based in Sandviken but involves frequent travel.
Key performance areas
In this position as Business Information Officer, you have the overall global responsibility to ensure valuable IT support is adapted to business needs, while maintaining a focus on efficiency. In close cooperation with business representatives, you establish a long-term development plan (road map) for IT services and implement approved investment decisions in cooperation with the Group IT organization. You also work towards standardization and coordination of IT solutions and services and communicate IT-related information globally.
A part of your responsibilities is following up and identifying improvement potentials in availability and security, so that the business' necessary requirements for availability and security are met. You set the budget and follow up on IT costs, and represent SMS in corporate-wide decision-making forums for IT, such as the Sandvik IT Management team. Additionally, you are responsible for leading and developing your team.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a relevant degree or knowledge gained through experience. You have long experience in your field and at least ten years’ experience of leading personnel in a managerial position or in larger projects or programs where you have also been responsible for budgets and results. You have actively worked with IT in a variety of responsible roles and effectively cooperated with several different organizational entities, maintaining a broad network. Additionally, you have had responsibility for the strategic work with respect to business planning and operational development, as well as for business relations with suppliers and customers. Your communication skills in English are excellent, both in writing and speaking.
