HRDSO Unit Overview

HRDSO provides centralized HR shared services to the World Bank Group and is an integral component of HR service delivery to its client base which includes managers, staff, and retirees.  To this end, the Service Delivery Team is continually seeking to improve the way HR services are delivered to clients.  These services include being the front line for providing support and consultation on HR policies and procedures via telephone, email or fax to the Washington, DC office, as well as administration of HR transactions.  HRDSO provides these services via a tiered service delivery model.  The team collaborates with other key partners providing service to staff including Payroll, Tax, Global Mobility, and HR Business Partners.  Additionally, HRDSO provides advice to clients on how to use HR self-service tools and functionality.
Role Summary:
HR Shared Services is on a modernization agenda which includes the implementation of a new case management tool. This role of the functional business analyst is to:
  • Document functional specifications.
  • Document test scenarios and test cases for UAT.
  • Document test results.
Skills:
  • Support the business leads in the writing the functional specifications and test scenarios and test cases in the implementation of case management.
  • Consults with functional subject matter experts to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access.
  • Tracks and fully documents changes for functional and business specifications.
  • Consolidates information into cohesive and understandable correspondence or other written form for use in management decision-making.
  • Create Test scenarios and test cases and detailed test scripts from the test cases.
  • Participates in user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality.
  • Documents detailed report on the bugs reported.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Master’s degree;
  • Process mapping (end-to-end);
  • 1-2 years of large scale project management experience;
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Project, MS Visio);
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, including root-cause analysis;
  • Proven analytical experience;
  • Strong consultative & analytical skills;
  • Strong knowledge of HR domain;
  • Life-cycle project planning, testing, and implementation;
  • Process reviews;
  • Business Requirements definition and documentation;
  • Business case documentation;
  • Document any identified required changes;
  • Knowledge of case management tool is a plus;
  • PMP and / or Six-Sigma certification a plus;
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills;
  • Strong conflict resolution, negotiating and facilitation skills;
  • Ability to work in a team environment;
  • He or she will also have to have the ability to communicate with diverse groups of people.
