The offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling. Sandvik Construction specializes in equipment, tools and service for the breaking, drilling and crushing niches in the construction industry. Application areas include tunneling, road planning and construction, milling, quarrying, trenching, well drilling, civil engineering, dimensional stone, hard rock excavation, demolition and recycling.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
This is a Junior / Entry level position that will grow over time with additional responsibilities added.
Stakeholders include: Regional Service Delivery Manager, Business controllers, Country/Company Finance Manager. The Accountant processes transactional finance activities within General Accounting (GA) and Fixed Assets (FA), and functions as back-up for other roles within the Finance organization and contribute in selected internal development projects. Will also train internal users in service provider tools using Sandvik Finance Academy as support.
Major duties include:
  • Calculation of Sales Commissions on a monthly basis
  • Maintain Fleet Vehicle inventory, orders, and year end mileage reports
  • Monthly Fixed Asset reconciliation, including the calculation and of depreciation in the ledger and SAGE Fixed Asset System
  • Monthly review of charges for Air Travel, Communications, and other large costs that may arise
  • Create posting for monthly items such as rent, employee rebills, and company credit cards
Other responsibilities may include:
  • Support business with regards to changes inGA or FA master data
  • Manage and reconcile interfaces to other systems
  • Prepare non rule based journal entries, period end adjustment postingsand authorize rule-based journal entries
  • Provide instructions on calculating allocations
  • Support the Service Delivery team with intercompany transactions
  • Reconcile retained GL account balances
  • Provide assistance to Service Delivery Team with financial reporting
  • Compile tax reports and other regulatory reports
  • Implementand support the development of GA policies and rules and provide Service Provider with information (e.g. for Procedures Manual)
  • Validate that internal controls are implemented and operational
  • Ensure that Business Process Outsourcing Providers (BPO) procedures are kept up to date
YOUR PROFILE
Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, preferably with some internship experience in accounting. Applicants should possess exceptional communication skills, math, problem solving and analytical skills, and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.The ideal candidate must be self-directed, able to work with little supervision and can demonstrate the ability to effectively collaborate with a variety of levels across the organization.
Additional required skills include:
  • Knowledge of processes, methods and tools for creating and maintaining accurate and thorough financial reports.
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
