HR Business Partner - Japan
Sandvik has presented the new role Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) and it playsa very important role for us in enabling a high performance organization by working closely with the Coromant businessmanagement teamin Japan. The main focus is to support the business strategy and align people priorities.
The business area SandvikCoromant (SMS), is specialized in Cutting Tool, metal cutting tools and associated parts. Coromant is now looking for an HRBP to be based in Nagoya where Coromant Japan’s headquarter locates, working with Sales Units.
You will be a member of the Coromant management teams, as well as being part of local Japan HR team. The position reports to HR Manager, Coromant Asia Pacific, with a dotted line to Coromant Manager in Japan.
Key performance areas
As HRBP you are responsible for enhancing organizational performance and the business from an HR perspective.
  • Contribute to the development of the organization´s Business Strategy. Provide HR expertise and support to the achievement of strategic business goals.
  • Develop and secure the implementation of the People Strategy within the organization.
  • Manage and secure follow through of core HR policies and processes such as Talent & Succession Management, Leadership Development, Performance Management, Diversity & Inclusion and Resourcing
  • Develop, implement and secure follow through on the measures and activities needed to develop a culture of a high performing organization.
  • Act as a change agent within the area of responsibility. Support managers in driving change by offering expertise and tools.
  • Develop and execute localHR strategy initiatives in line with the region and global HR strategy
  • Ensure compliance with global policies, local legislation and labor agreements etc.
  • Communicate HR strategy initiatives and process updates to managers and employees.
  • In collaboration and synergy to ensure effective HR service delivery model within local HR community works to support business management team and organization
Your profile
We are looking for a candidate with an university degree or master in HR, a similar field, or wide experience from thesearea. HR Business Partner experience with strategic HR focus and change management is an advantage. You are an HR professional who takes an interest in using strategic HR and organizational development to secure people strategy support business management.
  • At least 5 years of Human resources business partner related experiences or strategic HR equivalent and preferably from engineering industry.
  • You will have a high level of analytical, conceptual & evaluation skills and an ability to apply an innovative approach to assist in the management and development of HR support functions.
  • Your excellent interpersonal skills and leadership qualities will allow you to contribute to teamwork at multiple levels within the organisation.
  • You will have a strong customer service focus and demonstrate a high level of problem solving, listening and verbal communication skills. You will be self-motivated, dedicated and results driven.
  • Native level of Japanese language handle in appropriate manner is required and Fluent English is needed on both writing and speaking.
