Sandvik Mining is a business area of the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry. The offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.
Efficiency Development is responsible for developing and finding new, more efficient methods for CAM and efficient machining, and we have engineers, technicians and operators working with us. You will cooperate with other technicians, operators and project leaders concerning machine investment, Efficiency, R&D, and all other part of the organization regarding CAM and cutting methods. We are now looking for a CAM Technician, and can offer you an opportunity to join the world leader within the mining aftermarket tools area, in a key role as both expert and educator, where the challenge is to find new solutions and ways of working. The location for this position is flexible within the Sandvik Mining sites.
Key performance areas
As a CAM Technician your main responsibilities are:
  • Supporting projects with extensive knowledge of NC machining and CAM
  • Acting, togetherwith other CAM Developers, to develop and implement a global way of working with the CAD/CAM structure, with the focus on CAM and efficient machining
  • Supporting all of Mining Rock tools production units with respect to technology issues
  • Supporting all of our production units with respect to postprocessors and CAM
  • Working with global cycle time development and tool changes and stoppages as input into the OEE’s
  • Producing machine postprocessors using Tcl and Postbuilder
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a relevant technical degree and/or solid interest in technical issues and long experience from CNC type of manufacturing. You have knowledge of and experience with CAM and previous work with NX PLM/Siemens software NX/CAM and Teamcenteris a major advantage. Extensive CNC programming experience will also be an advantage. You have good skills in English, in both writing and speaking.
