Organisational back ground
ECPAT International is a global network of organisations and individuals working together for the elimination of child prostitution, child pornography and the trafficking of children for sexual purposes.    It seeks to encourage the world community to ensure that children everywhere enjoy their fundamental rights free and secure from all forms of commercial sexual exploitation.
The ECPAT network currently has 82 member organizations in 75 countries in Africa, Americas, Europe and the CIS, Asia and the Pacific. All of these members are independent organisations or coalitions working against the commercial sexual exploitation of children. The ECPAT Secretariat coordinates the global work of ECPAT International and is based in Bangkok, Thailand. The Secretariat designs programmes, advocacy and strategies to facilitate a range of network initiatives to make the greatest impact on combating Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC).
Job Purpose
Ensure that the Executive Director (ED) of ECPAT International is administratively supported in the effective coordination and management of her/his programme of work.
Primary Tasks
  • Carry out background research as requested by the ED
  • Coordinate the preparation of and/or prepare documents, briefing papers, reports, Notes for the Record, minutes of meeting, etc.
  • Coordinate  preparation of ED’s presentations and speeches, ensuring that they are prepared in a timely manner; that all statements and data are evidence-based; and
  • Ensure has necessary briefings and other preparations required for meetings and events
  • Organise and maintain the agenda of the Executive Director;
  • Liaise with management team and other ECPAT staff on matters related to ED’s office;
  • Serves as Secretariat for Sr. Management Team, arranging its meeting and preparing minutes;
  • Support the ED in systematic and timely communications and follow-up with ECPAT International  Board and  member groups and with partners, donors and other external contacts;
  • Other tasks as may be assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications
  • University degree, ideally in management, communications, development or related field;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English; knowledge of French and/or Spanish and ideally Thai language;
  • Demonstrated capacity in computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications;
  • At least three years of professional work experience (This is an entry level post and thus internship and volunteer experiences will be taken into account.)
