Job Summary

We have a superb opportunity within our Emerging Markets Division for a Senior Consultant responsible for business development. Working with one of the leading development agencies in the region, you will contribute to the development and expansion of Cardno Emerging Markets portfolio of client service activities.

Key Responsibilities

​Specifically, your duties will include:

• Pursuing new business with a primary focus on DFAT, DFID, and other international donors and clients, including strategic opportunities
• Contributing to corporate business strategy, improvement and innovation across the various business units of EMR.
• Ensure project delivery meets client service and financial targets.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including new and existing clients, business partners, and independent development consultants/firms as well as NGOs and other local and international partners.
• Provide high quality written contributions to key sections of commercial proposals.
• Identify and monitor strategic commercial opportunities. 

Other Requirements

​To be successful for this role you will possess:

• A track record in contributing to the delivering of new business and expansion in key sectors, markets, or clients.
• Demonstrated experience working in an overseas context in a developing country, preferably.
• Demonstrated donor-funded project management experience, demonstrating detail orientation, proactive attention to outcomes and expectations, and the ability to understand and effectively use financial information.
• Strong mentoring skills.
• Established networks among key clients and associates including, NGO/INGOs and individuals implementing donor funded international development projects are regarded favourably, particularly in Asia Pacific region.
• Experience writing high quality international development proposals and reports in English.
• Demonstrated experience in a management position where coaching and mentoring a team in a cross-cultural setting was involved.
• Demonstrated donor-funded project management experience, demonstrating detail orientation, proactive attention to outcomes and expectations, and the ability to understand and effectively use financial information.
