UNICEF, the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks a project manager (education) to work under the direction and guidance of the Chief, Education Section to coordinate overall education in emergency preparedness and response. Project Manager will be responsible for the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the education in emergency interventions, to ensure the survival and well-being of children and affected communities in emergency. Will be responsible to coordinate and provide support for policy and programme planning and management in UNICEF supported emergency programme.

Qualification and Competencies:
• Advanced university degree in one or more of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: Education; Primary Education, or a Social Sciences fields relevant to international development assistance.
• Five years of relevant work experience at national and international levels in field programmes relevant to Education programmes. Experience working in the UN or other international development organization an asset.
• Experience in national level development assistance is an asset.
• Background/familiarity with Emergency.
• High level communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possess good team approach and collaboration in a multi-cultural environment.
• Achieves results, through thorough follow ups and removing bottlenecks and mitigating risks.
• Analyzes and integrates diverse and complex quantitative and qualitative data from a wide range of sources.
• Quickly builds rapport with individuals and groups. Actively nurtures good relationships with people across all organizational levels and boundaries, and with government leaders and stakeholders.
• Identifies urgent and potentially risky decisions and acts on them promptly; initiates and generates organization-wide activities.
• Negotiates effectively by exploring a range of possibilities
