Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer - DFID Strategic Funding

Job profile

CAFOD, one of the UK’s leading international aid agencies, is currently looking for monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) specialist. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to contribute to our efforts to deliver real change for the world’s poorest and most disadvantaged people. We are half way through an ambitious ten-year strategic framework to drive forward our development, humanitarian and advocacy programmes and partnerships. Delivering improvements in our MEL processes and supporting programme staff in their use, is key to its success.

Job role

The post will be based in London within CAFOD’s Programme Effectiveness Department. The MEL Officer will coordinate CAFOD’s monitoring, evaluation and learning activities and initiatives related to our strategic funding agreements with DFID, including support to data collection, analysis and reporting. The role will work collaboratively across CAFOD to enable programme colleagues to effectively plan, monitor and report on our programme and partnership portfolios.

Your profile

Successful applicants will be very familiar with international monitoring, evaluation and evidencing approaches. You will have proven ability to proactively identify and improve business processes within development, humanitarian and advocacy settings, and to provide quality-assurance support to staff in the use of MEL guidance and tools. You will match this with the skills and commitment to work cross-organisationally to ensure that we enhance our impact through effective monitoring, evaluation and learning. But most important will be your ability to enthuse your colleagues – to foster continual learning and improvement, and support them in harnessing many of our strongest partnerships to deliver and demonstrate positive results for some of the world’s poorest communities.
Applicants interested in this post may also wish to consider the Programme Cycle Management post now being advertised concurrently.
