Internal Controls Specialist

To enable our mission, we now seek to appoint an Internal Controls Specialist for a new role within the Sandvik Group Assurance team. The position is located in Stockholm and offers stimulating challenges as well as close collaboration with the Head of Internal Control, on the quest to deliver a world-class function in Internal Controls (IC).
Key performance areas
As Internal Controls Specialist you support the Head of Internal Control by providing technical support in accounting and internal control. You will also support various Business Areas (BAs) with all IC requirements, both remotely and face-to-face; advising on best practice and control requirements while ensuring correct procedures and protocols are being followed, in order to create a symmetry within the BAs that is in line with company and country rules and regulations.
Your responsibilities also include:
  • Verifying internal control design and operation
  • Designing and producing tools, documents, training manuals and writing procedures for IC
  • Contributing strategic support within IC as well as in general financial matters, creating a framework at Group level
The position includes traveling globally up to between four and eight weeks on an annual basis.
Your profile
We are looking for someone formally qualified within accounting, with solid experience from internal or external auditing. You are highly experienced in working with financial controls and designing and testing operational effectiveness of internal controls, while previous involvement with implementation processes of IC within a larger organization is preferred. Experience from the creation of IC tools and documents, such as IC policy, manuals, RACM, training and communication materials is advantageous. Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written, is prerequisite.
You are a confident professional with excellent attention to detail. A strong communicator, you are business focused and pragmatic, while demonstrating the ability to create trusting relations that add value to the business.
