Job Purpose
 
The aim of this scheme is to train successful applicants to be able to provide an efficient administration support service, predominantly within a head office based department, in order to help the department function effectively.
 
To achieve a comprehensive understanding, the role also involves studying towards formal, nationally recognised qualifications (an NVQ L3/4) in Business & Administration.

Principal Accountabilities

  • To undertake administrative/ general office duties to support the running of the department in which you are based e.g. taking minutes, arranging meetings, organising events, preparing documents etc
  • Active involvement in specific tasks/ projects, as required, both to allow completion of the qualification and to support business needs
  • To successfully deepen experience/ skills/ knowledge of role through on-the-job learning and completing the required formal qualifications, through off-the-job learning
  • Organise and manage own time effectively in order to meet all requirements of role, and to ensure that both routine and unexpected tasks are completed promptly within relevant deadlines
  • Following procedures/ processes as required while using initiative to identify and suggest improvements
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, to facilitate collaborative working as and when required
  • Communicate with both colleagues and external parties, whether face-to-face, over the telephone or in writing, in an efficient and courteous manner, passing on information when necessary
  • Performance of any duties consistent with role as and when required to help department meet their objectives

The Individual

Key Role Requirements
  • Will undertake all training/ study required to complete programme
  • Willing to follow all applicable policies and procedures
  • Able to handle confidential information appropriately
Qualifications
  • 5 GCSE’s grade A* to C including Maths and English
  • Competent in standard computer packages; e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email
Motivation
  • Clear desire to work within the airline industry for BA in an administration role
Work Experience
  • Work experience in a business/admin. environment (desirable)
  • Experience of delivering customer service (desirable)
