COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

Vacancy for part-time COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER (20 hours per week)
The Hague Process on Refugees and Migration (THP) is looking for a (part-time) Communications Officer. The ideal candidate will be a professional with at least two years of experience in the Communications field, native in English, and with excellent speaking and writing skills. The part-time Communications Officer will work at the THP office in The Hague and will play a key role in developing and implementing a communications strategy for THP. The communications strategy will include continuous publication and dissemination of reports and policy briefs, and media exposure via online and offline tools. He/she will take responsibility for the THP website and liaise closely with the Directors and researchers, attend the regular team meetings, and contribute substantially to THP's overall activities as a team member.
Key Responsibilities:
In connection with the implementation of the Communication Strategy of THP:
Promote the THP website and increase website visitors
Manage, develop, and upload content (news and multimedia) to the THP website
Manage, maintain, update social media accounts and engage with followers
Assist in the preparation, design, and publication of THP reports and policy briefs (Indepth knowledge of InDesign)
Assist in the organization of events and activities
Film, edit and post videos from THP events and activities
Other duties as THP may reasonably require
Required qualifications and experience:
A Master's level or higher degree in Communications field
Experience with creating a communication strategy for an international NGO
Substantial experience in developing, updating and maintaining an evolving international website
Significant experience in managing Communications work, preferably in an international development context
Excellent graphic design and IT skills with a creative and dynamic approach to creating a communications strategy
Proven interest and knowledge on issues related to the migration and refugee fields
Proven knowledge and capacity to contribute to and manage online blogs on migration issues
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and website management with website CMS and WordPress experience
Experience with the use of social media through various outlets
Native English speaker
Excellent organizational and administrative skills
Ability to take initiative and work under pressure, in a team with energy, enthusiasm and dedication
Hours and Terms:
The position is on a part-time basis consisting of 20 hours per week at the THP office in The Hague. Some travel will be required to attend events and conferences related to THP's areas of activity.
