Research Fellow in Local Policy Evaluation

We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to join the NIHR School for Public Health research team at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) to work on a programme of research focused on evaluating local level interventions and policies.
The candidate should be educated to postgraduate level in a relevant subject and have an excellent record of research and peer-reviewed publications. They will be expected to contribute to a wide programme of work addressing local public health evaluation challenges in close collaboration with colleagues from the NIHR School of Public Health Research, and to work with communities and/or colleagues in local government in developing and delivering such evaluations. The main focus of the work will be evaluation of local government alcohol policies. No prior knowledge of alcohol policy is required but the candidate should have a wide range of experience in conducting mixed methods evaluations in natural policy settings.
The appointment will be full time, commencing as soon as possible for 18 months, and will be based in LSHTM’s Tavistock Place campus in Bloomsbury, London.
Appointment will be subject to LSHTM terms and conditions, including membership of the Universities Superannuation Scheme, an annual leave allowance of 30 days pro rata plus 6 fixed ‘Director’s Days’ and season ticket loan.
Salary will be on the Research Fellow scale £36,378 to £41,313 pa (inclusive of London Weighting) (as at 1 Aug 2013). Relocation expenses will be payable in accordance with School policy.
