Item Category Owner - Mechanical Components
Sandvik Mining develops and produces products and services for our customers' drilling, rock reinforcement, hauling, loading and mechanical cutting, as well as mine automation needs, worldwide. Engineering Tools & Process Development in Product Development & Global Technology organization is currently looking for an Item Category Owner, Mechanical Components. The main role of Engineering Tools & Process Development is to implement common engineering environment and processes that enable global collaboration of engineering centers. The location for this position is flexible.
Key performance areas
You will be responsible for the management of global component assortment in mechanical components item category. You will coordinate the component library creation, component classification and item management process implementation for your own category. Item Category Owner takes global ownership of common mechanical components library and supports SM's Product Development Centers (PDC) and sourcing in item selection process. You will strive for controlled reduction of items by jointly executed standardization activities with PDCs, sourcing and aftermarket functions.
Your profile
The qualified candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in an appropriate field of technology with at least couple of years' experience in engineering within mechanical components utilizing modern CAD tools and PLM systems. The role requires both communication and technical skills with contacts to all SM PDC's, sourcing, suppliers, aftermarket and other functions. You are familiar with the operating principles, technical properties and future prospects of the components in your field and are eager to explore more knowledge and information. You are a team player with excellent planning, coordination and problem-solving skills. The international contacts require good English skills and willingness to travel.
