Job Description

Position Summary:

The Event Coordinator is responsible for management, coordination and execution of fundraising initiatives to enhance the existing Baltimore, Salisbury and Western Maryland Walk to Defeat ALS, and other chapter event fundraisers to sustain their growth and increase revenue.
Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, implement, and support 4 – 6 new and existing annual events such as The Walk to Defeat ALS, our signature walk-a-thon; awards dinner, golf tournaments, etc.
  2. Assist in strategizing, setting budget and fundraising goals for annual programs.
  3. Build and execute strategic fundraising and cultivation plans that engage and inspire our volunteer and corporate prospects and partners and lay the groundwork for achieving annual revenue targets.
  4. Motivate, educate, and supply our fundraising committees and corporate partners with the tools and information needed to raise funds and spread ALS awareness.
  5. Cultivate and organize family, corporate, school and other walk teams. Build relationships with walk chairs, team captains and members.
  6. Solicit and secure corporate financial support and in-kind donations, cultivate relationships with key corporate leaders who can support initiatives.
  7. Provide volunteer support through face to face meetings, phone and email contact, and public speaking engagements such as our speaker symposia, kick offs and corporate cultivation meetings.
  8. Coordinate printing and distribution of event promotional materials.
  9. Manage on-line fundraising programs and module.
  10. Manage all logistics for events; venues, dates, permits and insurance information.
  11. Supervise and train volunteers for event day responsibilities.
Primary Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree.
  2. Two to three years paid experience in non-profit planning.
  3. A proven track record in special event fundraising and experience with donor databases are a must.
  4. Excellent organizational and writing skills as well as diligent attention to detail.
  5. Proficient use of MS Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), desktop publishing and database are required.
