Main responsibilities:

Ensure safety of the PDC staff through promotion of safe work practices, training and compliance to safety policies.
Develop new products for Sandvik Mining and Sandvik Construction sub Product Areas.
Define the needed resources for development projects;
Develop and maintain the skills and technical competence of department resources (includes departmental recruiting);
Coach individuals or project team to develop and maintain a good performance level – conduct performance reviews and ensure those plans are executed.
Action planning and budgeting for the department as needed;
Facilitate and develop cooperation with other Sandvik R&D Centres.
Together with other Engineering Managers, continually analyze resource requirements based on workload and provide status update reports on a regular basis.
Ensure Sandvik Project Model and modularization principles are used. Develop new ways of working and policies in close collaboration with other Engineering managers.
Visit customers frequently to better understand their concerns and application conditions.
Other duties as assigned.

Competence:

Experience:

Strong technical background with different kind of development projects
A minimum of 3 years of experience leading an R&D team (5+), preferably within heavy equipment/machine or heavy plant industry
Experience in working with continuous improvement in large, complex matrix organizations.

Education:

Degree in engineering, M.Sc., B.Sc.
