Systems Administrator II – Service Management Applications

WV uses the ServiceNow SaaS as its service management automation platform. The Global Information and Communications Team (GICT) Service Management Applications and Processes (SMAP) group is responsible for the deployment, operation and enhancement of ServiceNow and its range of modules.
The ServiceNow Systems Administratoris responsible for maintaining, monitoring, this system in a global environment. They work as a member of a team undertaking operational monitoring, handling incident and service requests and on multiple projects relating to process improvement and system enhancement.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Leads short-term project planning efforts with team members.
  • Works with systems engineers to understand technical requirements.
  • Monitors health of systems and provides appropriate recommendations, when required.
  • Determines the required course of action to improve performance and escalates when appropriate.
  • Develops, maintains, recommends, documents and supports tools and backend utilities to provide capacity planning management.
  • Analyses and reports on operational metrics to understand performance and to ensure success in process improvements.
  • Works with IT Security, where needed, in investigations and/or audits of systems.
  • Supports and participates in the formal reporting of project status.
REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE:
  • Bachelor’s degree or technical institute degree/certificate or equivalent work experience.
  • Requires strong knowledge and experience with multiple system environments, servers, and storage devices.
  • Knowledge and training in ITIL, and experience working in customer support environment
  • Javascript programming knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge and experience in ServiceNow service management platform
  • Requires 3-5 years of relevant information technology work experience.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, as necessary.
  • Experience working with any incident management or work ticketing system
