Short-term recruitment specialist , Washington, D.C

​Chemonics seeks a recruitment specialist for a six-month assignment with our East Africa Regional Business Unit. The recruitment specialist will work closely with the operations and new business teams to recruit and field project and proposal personnel in the East Africa portfolio. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
  • ​Develop, update, and maintain the East Africa Regional Business Unit’s LinkedIn page and expand networks through specialized recruitment databases
  • Liaise with the operations and new business teams to identify recruitment needs and draft position requirements
  • Develop and manage advertisements for home-office and field project personnel
  • Review and filter qualified candidates
  • Maintain recruitment records and contact information of potential candidates
  • Schedule and conduct interviews, prepare and save interview notes, and designate rankings for qualified candidates to be saved in recruitment rosters
  • Collect and finalize recruitment paperwork, including resumes, letters of commitment, reference checks, and biographical datasheets with salary verification
  • Attend industry and networking events to identify qualified candidates
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in international development or relevant technical field
  • Minimum three years of experience in recruitment
  • Minimum one year of experience working for an international development organization
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-moving team
  • Willingness to travel to rural and/or fragile environments
  • Experience in Africa preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
