Sandvik is a global industrial group with advanced products and world-leading positions in selected areas – tools for metal cutting, equipment and tools for the mining and construction industries, stainless materials, special alloys, metallic and ceramic resistance materials and process systems.
The Additive Manufacturing Center at Group R&D is a corporate initiative to evaluate AM as a technology for the Sandvik Group. The focus of the AM Center will be to evaluate the possibilities for Sandvik's use of these new technologies. This will be done in close collaboration with our different business areas (BAs). We are now looking for two innovative R&D Technicians who want to take part in building a new R&D team in Sandviken!
Key performance areas
As R&D Technician you are responsible for running different additive manufacturing technologies and other complementary equipment, as well as the maintenance of the same. You are also a member of development projects utilizing the AM technologies.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a high school diploma, five years' work experience in the field and basic knowledge of material characterization. You are used to running machinery, especially machines working with vacuum or under inert gases, and have the ability to document performed experiments. Knowledge of CAD drawings, Magic software and other relevant software used by AM technology is advantageous. Good communication skills in English are a prerequisite for the position, and knowledge in Swedish is advantageous.
As a person you are a communicative team player, with a passion for innovation and new technological discoveries. You have knowledge of Sandviks' products and production processes and are familiar with hands-on work in the lab and how to handle metal powders. Further, you are able to work independently but also in close teams, understanding the importance of creating a strong diverse team. Finally, you have a structured way of working and strong technical competence.
