Product and Application Specialist

Sandvik Construction, a world class provider of solutions for virtually any construction industry application encompassing such diverse businesses as rock quarrying, tunneling, excavation, demolition, road building, recycling and civil engineering, is currently looking for a Product and Application Specialist in Smyrna, GA.
The Role
In this key role, the Product and Application Specialist will be responsible for the product line's representation in USA. The role provides the link between the dealer network and Sandvik's dealers and customers. The focus is on providing guidance and advice on the implementation of new and different products and their respective selling strategies, based on customer and Sandvik's needs. Product specifications, selection and its application lie with this role.
Key Performance Areas

  • Actively supports community initiatives
  • Provides sales to dealers, their staff, end users and other Sandvik personnel
  • Participates in annual dealer reviews with BLM to provide input and help both Sandvik and the dealer plan focussed activities for the following year
  • Provides assistance and ensures successful contract and project execution
  • Creates business development plans and targets for the Product Line in collaboration with the Business Line Manager
  • Coordinates and reviews the information collated by the Sales Area, ensuring that product performance levels and specifications meet customer requirements
  • Provides significant input into strategic plans for the continued expansion of the Product Line
  • Coordinates data from the market for analysis, research and design engineering for the successful development of new product offerings
  • Participates in the Product Management team to develop and implement plans and actions in accordance with global and regional initiatives and guidelines
  • Assists BLM with management and control of expenses within budget
  • Provides training and education on the product range, assisting with the compilation of tender documentation, pricing strategies, and the supply of marketing material to support sales efforts
  • Visits key customers in conjunction with the sales team to provide in depth product knowledge
Your Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field
  • An excellent knowledge of the industries served
  • Working knowledge of relevant products and applications is highly desirable
  • Minimum of 3 years operational experience in the industry
  • Strong customer service focus
  • High level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • High level of professionalism, honesty and integrity
  • Ability to see the big picture, yet focus on the detail
  • Ability to assess and manage business risk
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent listening skills
