Member of Board of Trustees , Family for Every Child

Family for Every Child is a unique and diverse, global network of 16 hands-on national organisations, working with the millions of children in extended family care, in institutions, in detention, on the streets, as well as with those without adequate care within their own families. As a network we are seeking to bring together our knowledge and understanding of children in very difficult circumstances to achieve change nationally, regionally and internationally in the care and protection of children.
We are looking for someone who can make a significant contribution at what is a critical time of development and growth. Over the next year the Board will support the Assembly of Members to agree the long-term location of the International Secretariat (currently based in London, but with an international staff base). It will guide the growth of the network (of up to 5 new member organisations). It will also continue to oversee the establishment of a not-for-profit entity in the US, to increase the network’s fundraising capacity, and will continue to manage asset transfer from EveryChild into Family for Every Child.
We are looking for a Trustee with experience and knowledge in international HR to help guide Family for Every Child and the Board of Trustees as it develops a global workforce and way of working to support the global member-led network.
Experience required:
· International HR experience; including recruitment in multiple locations to establish a global workforce
· Awareness of the benefits and challenges of working in a multicultural organisation
· Knowledge to support an international secretariat to work effectively across multiple time zones with flexible and global ways of working (the secretariat includes office and home based staff)
· Understanding of networks or working in a decentralised organisation
· An interest in understanding the issues Family is seeking to address and the impact we aim to achieve.
· Organisational development experience desirable but not essential.
